Alongside the official release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive back in 2012, Lake was released as a map for the Demolition game mode. Later, it was made available for play in Arms Race, as well as releasing as playable maps alongside the releases of the Flying Scoutsman and Wingman gamemodes. Throughout its over 11 year history, Lake has become a fan favorite among the Counter-Strike community; consistently maintaining a lower queue time as compared to other maps in the Wingman gamemode.

Unfortunately, following the release of Counter-Strike 2, Lake is no longer playable in any form (not to mention 3/4 of the gamemodes it was originally available to be played in aren't playable anymore either). This means that Lake can only be played by playing the legacy version of Global Offensive, a version of the game now void of official matchmaking.

That leads us to where we are today. This is an open call to Valve, requesting that Lake be considered for a Source 2 remake to be included within Counter-Strike 2, as well as confirmation that the strong community behind this map is still kicking. Furthermore, this also serves as a broader reminder that Valve should focus on ensuring communities belonging to other maps are accomodated as the transition into Counter-Strike 2 continues.
