Alongside the official release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive back in 2012, Lake was released as a map for the Demolition game mode. Later, it was made available for play in Arms Race. In 2017, Operation Hydra brought about two new gamemodes featuring Lake, one of these gamemodes being Wingman. A wide range of players enjoyed the map's simplicity and unique gameplay experience it offered in the 2v2 competitive setting. Over its six year lifespan, Lake remained the lowest, if not one of the lowest, map in queue time for Wingman.

Unfortunately, following the release of Counter-Strike 2, Lake is no longer playable in any form. Not to mention, half of the gamemodes it was originally available to be played in aren't playable anymore either. This means that Lake can only be played within the legacy version of Global Offensive, a version of the game now void of official matchmaking.

That leads us to where we are today. This is an open call to Valve, requesting that Lake be considered for a Source 2 remake to be included within Counter-Strike 2. The community behind this map is alive and well, avidly awaiting its return. Furthermore, this also serves as a broader reminder that Valve should focus on ensuring communities belonging to other maps are accomodated as the transition into Counter-Strike 2 continues.
